Helps People Follow God's Plan

Work is part of God's plan for man. The Bible says (Genesis 2:15), “The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and keep it.” Jesus worked as a carpenter (Mark 6:3) as well as a teacher and healer. Paul was a tentmaker who preached what he practiced, telling early Christians (1 Thess. 4:12) to work with their hands so they may walk properly and be dependent on no one.

Provides Affordable Transportation

RTW operates as a fee-for-service nonprofit offering low-cost rides from central locations in Oconee County to places of employment in the Oconee County area.

• Riders pay $5 per ride.
• RTW pays the rest of the cost, up to $45 per ride.
• Riders are expected to save money once working and work toward affording their own transportation as soon as possible.

Solves a Critical Community Need

Many people in Oconee County want to work but lack reliable transportation. Local organizations help place people in jobs, but transportation remains a major barrier. Public transit also does not reach many areas or operate when second- and third-shift workers need it most.

Your Gift Is Tax Deductible

Ride To Work Ministry Nonprofit, Inc. is registered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation in South Carolina and is exempt from taxes under the Federal Income Tax Code.

An all-volunteer Board of Directors oversees operations. There are no paid positions. Ride payments also put people to work locally because rides are contracted to Uber drivers or a local taxi service.
