Helping Hardworking People Build Independent Futures
It's transportation.
At Ride to Work Ministry Non-Profit Inc., we believe every hardworking person deserves the opportunity to build a stable future, support themselves, and experience the dignity that comes from meaningful work.
We exist to help remove one of the biggest barriers many people face: simply getting to work.
Work is more than a paycheck.
Work builds confidence, creates stability, strengthens families, and opens doors to opportunities that can transform someone's future.
Our faith teaches us that work is part of God's loving plan. Throughout Scripture, we see the importance of using our talents, serving others, and becoming responsible stewards of the opportunities, we've been given.
We believe every person deserves the chance to work, grow, and become self-sufficient. That's why Ride to Work was created.
Oconee County is blessed with excellent employers and many organizations dedicated to helping people find jobs.
But one obstacle continues to stand in the way for many hardworking individuals.
Many people have jobs or are about to start new jobs but have no reliable way to get there. Others lose their jobs because of transportation breakdowns, unreliable rides, or temporary life circumstances.
For someone trying to improve their life, transportation can become the difference between moving forward or falling behind.
We exist to bridge that gap.
Our program is designed to create long-term success, not long-term dependence.

Each rider creates a success plan that focuses on becoming independent as quickly as possible.
This often includes:
We provide affordable temporary transportation while riders work toward finding permanent transportation solutions.
Every rider has skin in the game because we believe accountability creates long-term success.
Our volunteers walk alongside riders every step of the journey.
What many riders gain is something much bigger:
Confidence built through progress and support.
Greater stability through employment and dependable transportation.
Healthy financial habits and consistent saving.
Support from volunteers who walk alongside each rider.
A path toward becoming self-sufficient.
A renewed sense of possibility and a path forward.
Our volunteers become coaches, mentors, and advocates who celebrate every milestone along the way.
Ride To Work is entirely volunteer driven.
There are no paid positions.
Our volunteers donate their time because they believe every hardworking person deserves the opportunity to succeed.
Local businesses, churches, community organizations, and generous donors all work together to create life-changing opportunities throughout Oconee County.
When the community works together, lives change.
While we are not affiliated with any specific church, our ministry is rooted in Christian values and the belief that work is part of God's loving plan for every person.
We believe work honors the gifts God has given us and allows people to provide for themselves, their families, and their communities.
As Pope Francis said:
"Work is fundamental to the dignity of a person."
That belief continues to guide everything we do.
Of every dollar donated goes directly toward helping riders through transportation assistance and vehicle ownership programs.
Supports basic operating expenses such as insurance, our website, and administrative costs.
There are no paid board positions.
There are no paid fundraising companies.
Every donation directly helps hardworking people move toward self-sufficiency.
